From Fellow Alumni

A message from Clarence Whitefield ’48, director of alumni affairs at UNC’s General Alumni Association from 1970 to 1982.

Hello, members of the class of 2020 at the journalism school in Chapel Hill! This is Clarence Whitefield. I graduated from the J-School in 1948 – that’s a long time ago. But I’m sorry you had your graduation interrupted with all this virus we’ve got going around. Anyway, I want to extend my congratulations on your graduation anyway and tell you that I want to play a little tune for you. I think all of you will recognize and I hope appreciate go something like this… [Music: Plays UNC-CH fight song on the harmonica]

Go Tar Heels!

A message from JulieAnn McKellogg ’10 and Jeremy Spearman ’11 from the Hussman School Alumni Board.

JulieAnn: Congratulations, graduates! I’m JulieAnn.
Jeremy: And I’m Jeremy! We’re the co-presidents of the Hussman School Alumni Board. We want to welcome you to the Hussman alumni family! Our global community is here to support you as you navigate your personal transition and the big changes our world is undergoing.
JulieAnn: We want to encourage you to lean on us by joining our social media communities, signing up to meet our alums through Hussman Connections and reaching out to the Board with any needs or ideas. We’re here to point you in the right direction.
Jeremy: When you’re ready to take your involvement a step further we’d love to have you join us as mentors to undergrads and don’t forget to share your professional success stories, job leads and more with the school.
JulieAnn: We’re here to support you and be your connections back to the school, so let us know how we can help. Congratulations!

For ongoing support
